Scott Brown Wins!

Scott Brown Wins!

It is hard to say exactly what disease has infected liberals’ minds.

A REPUBLICAN OWNS TED KENNEDY’s SEAT.

Let me repeat that:

A REPUBLICAN OWNS TED KENNEDY’s SEAT.

The significance of that statement ranks right up there with The Sun Has Gone OUT.

It is CLEARLY a most resounding repudiation of President Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. And the “progressive” Socialist agenda. Only a completely deranged mind could see it any other way.

The view from across the pond in London from the Times:

Obama Hamstrung as Democrats lose Kennedy Seat.

From the UK Telegraph:

Crisis for Obama as Democrats lose senate seat

And from Conservative leaning outlets in the US, more of the same:

Newsmax Headline: Obama Suffers Devastating Loss in Massachusetts Senate Upset

FoxNews Headline: Boston Tea Party – GOP Victory a Blow To Obama

You get the picture. The entire world is able to see the blow to Democrats as voter backlash engulfed the Democrats. Taken alone, this is a historically significant victory for Republicans and a resounding defeat for Democrats. Combines with losses in Virginia and New Jersey in November, this signals the demise of the Democratic Party as a dominant force in US Politics and is a notice of things to come in November 2010.

But do the Democrats see that? Obviously not.

MSNBC Headline: The Message Democrats Should Hear From Massachusetts: Govern Effectively. Passing Health care reform won’t hurt them, but losing their courage will.

And the White House is clearly in denial. According to CNN:

A top adviser to President Obama rejected assertions that Tuesday’s vote was a referendum on the president or Democratic policies and instead took a shot at Coakley: “Campaigns and candidates matter.”

Fortunately, some of the Democrats get it. Virginia Senator Jim Webb is able to see the tea leaves and realizes that if the voter anger is enough to rip the Ted Kennedy seat from Democrat’s hands, his tenure in the US Senate is tenuous at best. Webb wrote:

“It is vital that we restore the respect of the American people in our system of government and in our leaders. To that end, I believe it would only be fair and prudent that we suspend further votes on health care legislation until Senator-elect Brown is seated.”

Hardly a mea culpa, at least Webb recognizes the anger. Unfortunately for Webb, his arrogant votes and failure to listen to the angry voters in Virginia has already sealed his fate with these voters.

Yesterday was no “shot across the bow” of the Democrats. It was a “Bunker Buster” delivered well behind enemy lines with point blank accuracy. While the clueless “progressive” Socialist leaders in the House and Senate, as well as Obama, still do not get it, vulnerable Democrats in both houses now have no doubt they are watching these leaders take the Democratic Party right off the cliff.

Look for others to come out and face reality.

But for most, including Webb, it is too late. Their retirement is at hand.

“Gas up the truck. Gas up the truck.”
